Karl Maughan makes his mark on the catwalk

Karl Maughan's hyper real gardens were turned into "walking pieces of art" by New Zealand label Stolen Girlfriends Club, at Australian Fashion Week in Sydney last night.

While Karl has already collaborated on both graffiti works and sculpture, it is his first foray into the fashion world.

Travelling to Sydney to see the results of the collaboration, he described the imagery used as being "part Monet's garden in Giverny and part New Zealand garden".

Page Blackie welcomes NINA GEHL

Marcia and James are proud to welcome a new represented artist to Page Blackie Gallery.

Nina Gehl is a London-based, American artist, who has recently exhibited alongside Tracey Emin, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Patrick Hughes and many more, in London’s prestigious Shoreditch Ball.

Living and exhibiting in London, Nina’s recent work mixes the medium of oil with ash from burnt wood or cremated remains, to create portraits- either of young women or of images which relate to the origin of the ash.

Born in Buffalo, New York, she received an MA in Fine Art at Byam Shaw School of Art and went on to complete an Associate Research degree at City & Guilds of London Art School.

Gehl’s work has been exhibited widely throughout the US, Europe, and the UK, including private collections, and in 2008 she was selected as a finalist for the Guasch Coranty International Painting Prize in Barcelona.

Nina’s first exhibition with Page Blackie Gallery will be in mid-September this year.
