A large painting by Karl Maughan will be on display at the Suter Gallery, Nelson, as part of their exhibition titled Mille Fleurs. The exhibition opens today and runs until 25 June 2010. The title, Mille Fleurs, translates as 'thousand flowers' and refers to a style of tapestry where many flowers and plants feature in the background of the image. The exhibition has two pictorial themes: traditional and contemporary botanical illustration, and also the contemporary interpretation of the sensual pleasure garden. The Page Blackie Gallery is pleased to have been able to facilitate the exhibition of Karl Maughan's work in this show. Click here for more information about this exhibition.
